Hi!  Thanks for stopping by.

I love Goodwill.  No, it’s really serious.  I make plans in the part of town that my local Goodwill is in so I can “just happen to” pass by and stop in.  I make my friends go there with me more than once a month.. sometimes (usually) more than once a week.  A good portion of my wardrobe is from there.  I haven’t had a dream about Goodwill yet, but I’m sure that I will soon.

What is it about this store that I find so intriguing?  Maybe it’s the sense of history and nostalgia that exudes from the items at Goodwill.  Perhaps it’s the fact that no two Goodwill stores are ever the same.. in fact, no one Goodwill store remains the same for more than a week.  Maybe it’s the way that all Goodwill stores smell the same.  Whatever it is, there is an air of magic to Goodwill.  Am I the only one who feels this way?  I don’t think that I am.

If you’ve ever been to Goodwill, chances are you’ve found something weird or wonderful for sale.  You may have even bought a weird or wonderful item there just for the reason that it was weird or wonderful.  This site is for those people of the world who have come to realize the value of their local Goodwill store.  This site is a dedication to those stand-out Goodwill finds that make you want to come back for more.  It’s a look at the one man’s trash that will soon be another man’s treasure.

FAQ

Do you really love Goodwill or is this your attempt at being funny?

I absolutely, really, honestly and truly love Goodwill.  Everything that I’ve said above is 100% non-fiction.  Goodwill does so many (for lack of a better word) good things for communities across the country and provides employment and training for millions of disadvantaged individuals.  They also have really cute clothes and cheap books!  Everyone should shop there.

Will you only accept photos taken at a Goodwill store or can a photo be taken at, say, a Salvation Army thrift store?

This blog/photo collective is called found it at goodwill for a reason, thank you very much!

Joking.. You can totally send your other thrift store finds to found it at goodwill as long as your photos/stories meet the following requirements:

1) It’s weird and/or wonderful.

2) You or someone you know took the photo – you didn’t find it doing a Google image search or some other such nonsense.

3) There’s nothing pornographic.. or blatantly cruel about your photo/story.

That’s it!  Yes, this site’s namesake belongs to Goodwill, but found it at goodwill appreciates all of the eccentric finds that thrift stores around the country (heck, the world) have to offer.
